Another thing Jerry and I regret not having >stopped to buy, believe it or not, was a white plastic bucket that an old man on the west-, Polish-side of Chicago was selling. He was sitting outside, in his driveway on the side of the road, whittling, I suppose, the extra trim off of the bottom of the buckets. We never saw him and the buckets again, unfortunately.
But, good God, and his son Jesus on a pony, there were plenty of places to buy goose clothing. One place with tons of clothes on little, mini hangers and racks was in a parking lot on South Cicero Avenue between Ford City and Midway Airport!
